Euromaster Netherlands uses the Easy Gripper 2160 to improve worker safety and tyre handling in the ports of Rotterdam and Amsterdam.
Safety First
Say hello to Euromaster Netherlands. They serve two of the most significant ports in Europe: the port of Rotterdam, which is the continent’s largest and busiest seaport by metric tons of cargo, and the port of Amsterdam, which is the continent’s fourth busiest seaport.
For many years, customers have trusted Euromaster because of their expertise, wide range of wheels and tyres, and their commitment to safety. However, Euromaster Netherlands realized they could do more to make working conditions safer for the technicians who mount, move, tilt, and stack tyres every day.
They bought their first Easy Gripper 2160 in early 2021 to serve in the port of Rotterdam, and the employees quickly concluded it was a worthwhile investment with significant improvement in working conditions, both in terms of safety and ergonomics. As a result, they decided to purchase a second Gripper, this time to service wheels and tyres at the port of Amsterdam.
It takes skills and the right equipment
Harbor wheels and tyres require experts, and the port technicians in Rotterdam and Amsterdam have received advanced training on how to disassemble and reassemble harbor tyres. Special care must be taken when maintaining Reach Stacker and Straddle Carrier wheels. The air pressure in these wheels, which is roughly 8-10 bar because of the heavy work they must perform, makes servicing them much riskier.
Maintaining tyres requires not just skilled hands but also the proper tools. The Easy Gripper is perfect for this situation. With its unique 3-point, non-slip grip, the Gripper ensures that the tyres are held firmly in place during mounting and demounting, which provides the technicians with a safer and more comfortable working environment. So, instead of being pushed to their limits and overburdened by the heavy tyres and wheels on the verge of tipping over, the Easy Gripper takes care of the work.
Safety is not the whole story
Maximized levels of safety, indeed! But that's not all. The Easy Gripper's versatility and mobility have also made it considerably easier to handle tyre logistics both in-shop and on-site. The staff can now effortlessly lift, move, and position the tyres on pallets, as well as transport the tyres to and from the service location. And the Gripper, mounted on the forklift, smoothly follows along, optimizing all on-site operations.

But that’s not the end of it.
